Charity and Mental Health Films

Telling the Stories That Matter Most

Some stories require more than a skilled filmmaker. They require someone who understands how to hold space for vulnerability, how to earn trust in difficult circumstances, and how to draw out authentic human experience without causing harm.

This is where my background is unusual. Alongside over 15 years of documentary filmmaking, I hold clinical training in trauma-informed practice as an RTT therapist and hypnotherapist. I understand the nervous system, emotional safety and what it takes for someone to feel genuinely seen and heard on camera.

For charities, mental health organisations and awareness campaigns, this makes all the difference.

Charity Video Production London and UK-Wide

I work with charities, non-profits, NGOs and social impact organisations to create films that communicate the human reality of the issues they work with.

Whether you need a fundraising film, an awareness campaign, a service explainer or a documentary series, I bring both cinematic craft and genuine emotional intelligence to the process. Contributors feel safe. Stories land with authenticity. Films move people to act.

I am based between London and the Cotswolds and work with charity clients across the UK and internationally.

What I Offer

Fundraising and donor films Awareness campaign video production Contributor-led documentary films Sensitive interview-based storytelling Social impact and behaviour change campaigns Mental health awareness films Service and impact films for reporting and communications

Why This Work Is Different

Most filmmakers approach an interview as a technical exercise. I approach it as a human one first.

My clinical background means I understand trauma responses, how to create genuine psychological safety on set, and how to work with contributors who may never have spoken publicly about their experience before. I know how to slow down, how to listen, and how to ask the question underneath the question.

The result is footage that feels real, because it is. Contributors are not performing for the camera. They are simply being heard.

Current Project

I am currently in production on a documentary pilot exploring mental health and midlife transition, examining how people navigate rupture, reinvention and the search for meaning in the second half of life.

If you are working on a mental health project and would like to discuss collaboration, I would love to hear from you.

Previous Clients Include

Mind, Action on Hearing Loss (now RNID), and a UK charity raising awareness for communities affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
